In Montepulciano (Siena) during the event “Preview of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano” on which the new vintages are presented on the market, the latest vintage 2020 has been rated 5 stars (the highest rate).
A survey carried out by the Consortium based on a representative group of associated wineries showed that the appellation turnover in 2020 declined -31.5% compared to 2019, more precisely:
- Italian market -31.1%
- export market -16.35%
- wine tourism (the biggest loss) -51.4%
